EFI LIVE TUNING — 07-21 CUMMINS 6.7L
Never interrupt a flash. When it finishes, turn the ignition off and let the on-screen countdown run out before starting the vehicle.
Loading your EFI Live tune on a 2007.5–2021 RAM 2500/3500 6.7L Cummins. The AutoCal comes pre-loaded for most years and makes, so most people flash straight from it. The pass-through option flashes from a laptop through the device instead, using V8 Scan and Tune. Either way, the transmission tune is a second pass of the same steps.
Steps
1 AutoCal: plug into the OBD port and turn the ignition on, engine off
Skip the AutoCal steps if you are flashing pass-through from a laptop.
2 AutoCal: select Tune Tool, then Tuning, then Program Full, then your tune file
3 AutoCal: accept the prompt to license the vehicle
Select Yes.
4 AutoCal: let the flash finish, then turn the ignition off and wait out the countdown
Do not interrupt the flash. When it completes, turn the ignition off and follow the on-screen instructions, letting the countdown finish before starting the vehicle.
5 AutoCal: repeat for the transmission tune
Run Tune Tool, Tuning, Program Full again with the transmission tune file, if you have one.
6 Pass-through: save the tune file from your email and connect the device
Put the file on your desktop or somewhere easy to find. Connect the device to your computer and to the vehicle's OBD port. Skip the pass-through steps if you used the AutoCal.
7 Pass-through: open the tune in V8 Scan and Tune and choose Full Flash
Select F3: Tune, then Open, and pick your tune file. With it open, select F7: Full Flash.
8 Pass-through: license the controller
Turn the ignition on with the engine off. Select Activate License, and answer Yes to permanently licensing the controller. Once licensed, turn the ignition off and follow the on-screen prompts.
9 Pass-through: full flash the tune
Turn the ignition on with the engine off and select Full Flash. Do not interrupt the flash. When it completes, turn the ignition off and follow the on-screen instructions, letting the countdown finish before starting the vehicle.
10 Pass-through: repeat for the transmission tune
Repeat the open, license and full flash steps with the transmission tune file, if you have one.
