EGR DELETE — 17-19 POWERSTROKE 6.7L

Removing the EGR cooler and both EGR pipes on a 2017–2019 Ford F-250/F-350 Super Duty 6.7L Power Stroke, and fitting the pass-through, intake and exhaust block off plates. Penetrating spray on every exhaust fastener beforehand makes removal easier. Kit contents: • 1 × EGR cooler pass-through plate • 1 × intake manifold block off plate • 1 × exhaust manifold block off plate • 1 × molded silicone coolant hose • 1 × EGT probe adapter • 2 × large stainless hose clamps • 2 × small stainless hose clamps • 1 × 5/16" brass hose coupler • 1 × 3/8" brass hose coupler • 4 × M6 × 20mm stainless bolts • 3 × M6 × 30mm stainless bolts • 1 × vacuum hose cap • 4 × zip ties

1 Keeping the EGR cooler? Unplug these connectors instead
If you are running emissions-off tuning but leaving the cooler in place, unplug the three connectors circled on the EGR cooler, on the passenger side of the engine, so the truck throws no warning codes. Then stop here; the rest of this guide removes the cooler.
2 Disconnect the negative terminal on both batteries
3 Drain about 12 litres of coolant
That is roughly 3 US gallons, from both the hot and cold sides of the radiator. Turn the drain a quarter turn counterclockwise, pull it outward, then turn it a further quarter turn counterclockwise.
4 Remove the air intake tube
Loosen its two clamps with a 7mm socket. Unplug the MAF sensor on the tube by releasing the red locking tab, unclip the three coolant lines from the tube, then lift the tube out.
5 Replace the coolant tee with the 3/8" barbed coupler
Remove the three hose clamps on the 5/16" coolant hose and take the tee out. Fit the supplied 3/8" straight barbed fitting with two of the small stainless hose clamps.
6 Disconnect the quick-connect coolant line from the metal standpipe
The standpipe sits between the EGR cooler and the intake manifold.
7 Disconnect the EGR temperature sensor and remove the short EGR pipe
14mm wrench for the sensor, 8mm socket for the pipe.
8 Remove the longer EGR pipe
Five 6mm bolts, 8mm socket.
9 Unplug the harnesses on top of the EGR cooler and cap the vacuum line
Remove the 90-degree fitting first to free the vacuum hose, then fit the supplied vacuum hose cap. Zip-tie the harnesses back to the PCM harness so they are out of the way.
Also unplug the butterfly valve connector next to the fan shroud.
10 Unplug the PCM harness from the PCM
Secure it out of the way.
11 Remove the two bolts securing the wiring harness to the EGR cooler
8mm socket.
12 Remove the two clips on the heat shield
They are on the passenger side, under the EGR cooler.
13 Remove the seven bolts that hold the EGR cooler in place
8mm socket.
14 Remove the nut retaining the EBP hard line to the back of the cooler
10mm. On 2015–2016 trucks it is a 12mm.
15 Remove the EGR cooler from the truck
16 Install the EGR cooler pass-through plate
Three of the M6 × 30mm bolts, 5mm Allen wrench.
17 Install the exhaust manifold block off plate
Reuse the factory gasket, with two of the supplied M6 × 20mm bolts and a 5mm Allen wrench.
If you are not fitting an aftermarket 1/8" EGT probe, install the supplied EGT probe adapter with a 5/8" socket and one of the factory EGT sensors from the DPF system.
18 Install the intake manifold block off plate
Two of the supplied M6 × 20mm bolts with an Allen wrench. Make sure the O-ring is seated properly before fitting.
19 Reconnect the coolant lines
Reconnect the quick-connect coolant hose to the metal standpipe, and the top line to the brass barbed fitting from step 5 if you have not already.
20 Reconnect the PCM harness
Make sure the plugs are fully seated.
21 Reinstall all of the intake components
22 Refill the coolant and check for leaks
Follow factory specifications. Run the engine and check for leaks. Once the truck reaches operating temperature, check the coolant level again and top up as needed.
