RACEME ULTRA HARDWARE CONNECTION — 07-24 CUMMINS 6.7L
The micro USB cord only goes in one way. The "B" printed on the plug faces the bottom of the display, and the bottom of the controller. Forcing it the wrong way damages the cord or the socket, and that is not covered under warranty.
Connecting the RaceMe Ultra's parts to each other and to the truck before the first programming session: display, controller, communication module, OBD2 cable and the RSA unlock cable through the firewall to the datalink connector. Every part has to be connected for the tuner to work. The micro SD card comes preinstalled in the top left corner of the display. It only comes out for software updates: push it lightly until it unclicks, then pull it out.
Steps
1 Know the parts
Display with the micro SD card already fitted, controller, communication module, OBD2 cable, RSA unlock cable and the micro USB cord. The picture names each one.
2 Plug the micro USB cord into the back of the display
The "B" printed on one side of the plug must face the bottom of the display.
3 Plug the other end into the controller
Again the "B" faces the mounting tab, which is the bottom of the controller. The end of the controller has three ports: the display port, a middle mini USB type B port for connecting to a computer running the Warp custom tuning software, and a white socket for the optional EGT kit.
4 Push the controller onto the communication module
They join with a DB-15 serial connection. It is an interference fit: when the two boxes are pushed together, the tight fit of the plastic cases holds them.
5 Connect the OBD2 cable and the RSA unlock cable
The DB-15 on the other side of the communication module takes the OBD2 cable, which plugs into the diagnostic port under the dash. The RSA unlock cable connects to the side of the communication module.
The RSA cable unlocks the ECM and is also needed for the RT (real time) functions, so it stays connected.
6 Route the RSA unlock cable through the firewall
The recommended spot is the shift cable boot to the left of the steering column, as pictured.
7 Plug the RSA cable into the datalink connector
The datalink connector is in the same place on every truck from 2010 on. It shares the fuel injector harness, on the driver side of the engine behind the air intake horn, zip-tied to the harness with a weatherproof protector plugged into its end. Remove the protector and plug the RSA cable in.
8 Turn the ignition to Run to wake the Ultra
That completes the connections. The tuner is ready to program the ECM; the programming guide takes it from here.
