COLD AIR INTAKE — 16-19 TITAN XD 5.0L CUMMINS
Do this after the tune is installed and confirmed, with both batteries disconnected.
Fitting the cold air intake on a 2016–2019 Nissan Titan XD 5.0L Cummins in place of the factory air box. The factory box must already be out: if it is still in, remove it first following the first five steps of the unlock cable guide. Tools: 11/32" socket, 10mm socket, 5/16" socket, Phillips screwdriver. Kit: AFE Power air filter with clamp (21-40035), air duct, 90° black rubber elbow, band clamps 115/107 and 100/92.
Steps
1 Remove the factory air duct clamp
11/32" socket, at the air inlet connection that runs under the intake manifold.
2 Move the MAF and compressor inlet sensors to the new duct, and fit the filter
2 screws hold the mass air flow sensor to the old housing lid, 1 screw holds the turbocharger compressor intake pressure/temperature sensor. Fit both to the new duct. Fit the large 90° black rubber elbow to the other end, with the 115/107 clamp first then the 100/92; do not tighten. Fit the AFE Power filter to the duct with its clamp, loose.
3 Install the duct and filter
Fit the assembly onto the air inlet connection under the intake manifold with the bracket facing the firewall. Remove the bolt there, align the bracket and refit it. Tighten the 115/107 and 100/92 clamps with a 10mm socket and the filter clamp with a 5/16" socket. Plug the 2 loose connectors into the sensors on the new duct.
4 Check the engine bay and start the truck
Look over the whole engine for loose parts, tools or hardware. Reconnect the batteries, start the truck and check for air or coolant leaks.
