EZ LYNK TUNING — 16-19 TITAN XD 5.0L CUMMINS
Tune first. The tune must be installed and confirmed working before any part is removed. If you start removing parts and disconnecting sensors before the tune is in, the truck may not start. Do not connect the Auto Agent without the supplied EZ Lynk cable in line. That cable is what unlocks the ECM. Not legal for sale or use on pollution-controlled motor vehicles anywhere in the United States. Legal only for off-road competition racing vehicles not operated on public roads. By installing you assume all risk and liability, and it may void the manufacturer's warranty.
Installing the EZ LYNK tune on a 2016–2019 Nissan Titan XD 5.0L Cummins. This is the first part of every install: the tune goes in and is confirmed working before any part comes off the truck. Before you start: • Connect a battery charger or tender. Tuning takes a while, and the batteries must not drop. • If you bought the SOTF option, install only the SOTF profile. The other tunes are combined into it. You need the Auto Agent 3, the supplied EZ Lynk cable, and the grey Engine Diagnostic Connection cable.
Steps
1 Download the Auto Agent app
Get the latest Auto Agent 3 (EZ LYNK) app from the Apple or Google Play store. The QR code on the back of the Auto Agent box links to a video about the product. Connect a battery charger or tender to the truck before you go further.
2 Connect the Auto Agent through the EZ Lynk cable
Connect the Auto Agent 3 to the supplied cable, and the other end of the cable to the ECM under the driver side dashboard. Temporarily connect the grey Engine Diagnostic Connection cable to the engine's 3-pin diagnostic port at the far left of the engine bay.
Never connect the Auto Agent without this cable: it is what allows the ECM to be unlocked.
3 Create your EZ LYNK account
Open the app, create a login, and read and accept the terms of service and privacy policy. Confirm the registration from your email, then log in. Select the Auto Agent you have (likely Auto Agent 3) and enter your name, phone number and birthday. That contact information is how your technician reaches you.
4 Connect to the Auto Agent over Wi-Fi and update its firmware
Make sure the Auto Agent is plugged into the vehicle. Choose Wi-Fi as the connection type, then join the EZLYNK_XX network from your phone's Wi-Fi settings and come back to the app. Proceed with the firmware update.
5 Confirm the lynk details
Make sure the VIN shown is your VIN, and take note of the EzTuning email. Read the disclaimer, select "Don't show" and Accept. The next screen is the last opportunity to verify your information before the vehicle is lynked.
6 Open ECU Profiles
If your screen shows gauges, select Tiles in the top left corner. Select Vehicle, confirm the screen says "Connected", then select ECU Profiles.
7 Select the SOTF profile and confirm
Select "SOTF 0-135HP R2" if you bought the SOTF option. Install that one only: every other tune is combined into it. Confirm the details on the next screen.
8 Follow the eleven ECU profile installation screens
The app walks you through them: locate the engine 3-pin diagnostic port, connect the supplied cable to it, connect the two diagnostic cables to each other, and connect them to the OBD port and Auto Agent. It then transfers the profile. When asked, turn the ignition OFF and press Continue, then press the ON button twice without starting the engine. Wait for the installation to complete; do not unplug the Auto Agent or turn the key off while it runs. Turn the ignition OFF when asked, press ON twice again, and the app reports the installation complete.
9 Remove the charger and confirm the truck accepted the tune
Start the truck. It should run smoothly. If there are issues, install the stock tune and investigate before going any further.
10 Going on to remove parts? Get on ramps, then disconnect both batteries
If you are working on 2 ramps, drive up now, before the batteries come off. All the remaining work is done in this position. Disconnecting both batteries keeps them from draining while you work.
