DPF DELETE EXHAUST — 16-19 TITAN XD 5.0L CUMMINS
Do this after the tune is installed and confirmed. Get the truck on 2 ramps on the passenger side, driven up in 4-wheel drive so the ramps do not slide, then disconnect both batteries. When fitting the new exhaust, tighten nothing until it is all hung and aligned, except the first piece at the downpipe.
Removing the DOC/DPF and catalyst assembly on a 2016–2019 Nissan Titan XD 5.0L Cummins and fitting the delete exhaust from the downpipe back. Tools: 12mm, 14mm, 15mm and 17mm sockets, 5/8" socket, rubber mallet and a wooden block, zip ties and zip lock bags, car ramps. Kit: 2 straight tubes, S pipe, exit pipe, muffler replacement, 4 clamps, 2 hanger clamps, 3 bolts with washers and nuts, exhaust gasket, electrical block plugs.
Steps
1 Remove the tailpipe
Start at the rear. 15mm socket for the exhaust clamp; a rubber mallet and wooden block will separate the tailpipe if needed. Pull it out of the hanger bracket and over the rear axle.
2 Remove the frame plates and disconnect every plug
12mm socket for the plates. Use the diagram as a guide to the plugs.
3 Remove the catalyst assembly
15mm socket for the 3 bolts to the next section, then lift it off the hangers above.
4 Remove the DOC/DPF assembly
15mm socket for the 3 bolts holding it to the exhaust downpipe.
5 Cap and bag the connectors
Fit black dead caps to the plugs, wrap the connectors in zip lock bags, and zip-tie them to the harness on top of the frame.
6 Bolt the straight pipe to the downpipe
This is the only piece to tighten straight away. 5/8" and 17mm sockets for the 3 bolts, washers and nuts. Check the supplied gasket is in good shape, align and connect.
7 Fit the hanger brackets, then hang the rest of the pipes loose
Fitting the brackets before the pipes go in makes alignment easier. Leave everything else loose and go back and forth setting alignment and distance. It may be easier to slide the clamps on first. 15mm socket to lock the exhaust or snug pieces in place, 14mm for the U-bolts.
